Cover Letters

We strongly recommend that you include a cover letter if you express an interest in a job.

Sending your CV is an obvious first step but your cover letter should complement the CV and provide detail that is specific to the job.  There is not much sense in expressing your deep desire to successfully apply for the position or that you are the right dynamic and energetic person who should obviously be the successful candidate.

Your cover letter should give a brief overview of your present circumstances and why you are applying for this particular position.  However, the cover letter should above all address the ‘relevant criteria' that defines the particular job and why your educational qualifications and professional experiences singularly identify you as the right candidate.

If you do this properly and discover that your background does not address all of the criteria you should not be applying as it is highly unlikely that you would be considered for the position.

Refer to the suggested web sites under the ‘Resume' section for more information on cover letters.
